What data the extension processes

Threadline processes the following data locally in the user's browser:

• The current Douyin video page URL and video ID
• Comment data visible or accessible to the current Douyin web session
• Task status, recent task history, and cached export metadata
• Generated Excel export files and local export cache

How the data is used

The extension uses this data only to capture comments from the current Douyin video page, generate a local Excel export, allow the user to re-export cached results later, and show task history inside the extension UI.

Data storage

Threadline stores task history and cached export data locally in the browser using Chrome extension storage and local browser databases.

Data sharing

Threadline does not send captured comments, local files, or company code to the developer's server.

Downloads

When the user chooses to export, Threadline triggers a browser download so the Excel file is saved to the browser's default download folder.

Permissions used

• storage: store local task history and cached export metadata
• downloads: download the generated Excel file to the user's device
• Host access to https://www.douyin.com/*: run only on Douyin pages required for the extension's functionality
